Located in Baiyun District, Guangzhou, Baiyun Railway Station is one of the largest railway hubs in Asia and a national key transportation project. The station integrates high-speed rail, conventional rail, and intercity transportation, making it a vital transfer point in southern China.
Covering 2.63 million square meters with a total construction area of 453,000 square meters, Baiyun Railway Station features 11 platforms and 24 railway lines, and officially opened on December 26, 2023.
The Government’s Need for Advanced Display Solutions
In early 2023, the Baiyun District Government initiated a public bidding process for high-quality display equipment, including:
- Digital signage solutions
- Commercial display systems
- Interactive flat panel displays
The goal was to equip the new railway station with interactive display products for:
- Passenger self-service inquiries
- Real-time travel guidance
- Train schedule broadcasting
- Rail operations monitoring
Why JAV Won the Contract
With nearly 20 years of expertise in the interactive display industry and a production facility located just 20 km from the station, JAV Smart Board stood out in the competitive bidding process.
Our tailored proposal included over 600 display units, many of which were custom-designed to match the station’s infrastructure and operational requirements. This included specialized installation designs and hardware configurations to ensure durability, reliability, and smooth integration with the station’s systems.
Installation & Seamless System Integration
Once the station’s construction was completed in November 2023, Baiyun Railway Station invited JAV to deliver and install all the required display units.
We deployed a dedicated project team of 6 engineers from our engineering department and 20 skilled workers from our production lines. Over approximately one month, the team completed the entire installation and commissioning process.
A crucial part of the project was integrating each smart board product into the station’s Information Publishing System, Data Processing System, and Monitoring System. This ensured that every interactive display and digital signage unit worked flawlessly with other equipment, delivering accurate, real-time information to passengers and operational teams.
Measurable Impact
In its first year of operation, Baiyun Railway Station welcomed 13 million passengers, averaging 35,000 daily travelers. Thanks to JAV’s interactive display solutions, passengers can easily check train schedules, navigate the station, and access essential travel information—enhancing both efficiency and passenger experience.
